Cymatics is the study of visible sound co-vibration. The study goes back as far as 17th century but the name was used by Swiss doctor Hand Jenny in his book Kymatic. The following video posted on Nigel Stanford^s Vimeo channel is an example of such phenomenon used with different sound patterns to create a piece of music. The video makes me wonder if such phenomenon can really affect human brain or in general human body both physically and psychologically the same way is affecting sand, water or fire in this video! Bearing in mind 60% of our body is water. Can we say the music therapy can really work? Can specific message being hidden and sent to our unconscious mind through music? If so then it can be very powerful and of course dangerous in wrong hands! Can this be the reason that most Muslim scholars believe listening to the music is not permitted??
